Terms & Conditions

1. Order Placement

  • All orders must be placed at least 48 hours in advance. For custom, large, or wedding cakes, we strongly recommend placing your order at least 5–7 days in advance.
  • Orders are only confirmed once a deposit or full payment has been received.
  • Jaytal House of Cake reserves the right to decline orders that cannot be completed within the requested timeline or that do not align with our capabilities.

2. Pricing

  • All prices are displayed in Kenyan Shillings (KES) and are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Custom designs, added tiers, or premium ingredients may attract additional charges, which will be communicated before order confirmation.
  • Prices quoted are final only upon written confirmation from our team.

3. Payment

  • We accept the following payment methods: Cash, M-PESA, Visa, and MasterCard.
  • A minimum deposit of 50% is required to confirm your order. The balance is due upon delivery or pickup.
  • For orders above KES 10,000, full payment may be required in advance.

4. Customisation & Design

  • Customers are encouraged to share inspiration photos, colour references, or design briefs when placing custom orders.
  • While we will do our utmost to match your desired design, minor artistic variations may occur. We do not guarantee an exact replica of a reference image.
  • Edible images, personalised text, and custom toppers must be communicated at the time of ordering.

5. Delivery

  • Jaytal House of Cake offers delivery services within Nairobi. Delivery charges vary depending on location and will be communicated at checkout.
  • We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to traffic, weather, or force majeure events.
  • It is the customer's responsibility to ensure someone is available to receive the cake at the agreed delivery time and location.

6. Pickup

  • Customers opting for pickup must collect their cake at the agreed time. Cakes not collected within 2 hours of the agreed time without prior communication may result in forfeiture of the order.
  • Once a cake leaves our premises, Jaytal House of Cake is not responsible for any damage caused during transport by the customer.

7. Cake Handling & Storage

  • Our cakes are fresh and must be stored in a cool, dry place or refrigerated (not frozen) if not consumed on the day of delivery.
  • Cakes should be kept away from direct sunlight or heat, which may cause frosting to melt or decorations to shift.
  • We recommend consuming your cake within 2–3 days of delivery for optimal freshness.

8. Cancellations

  • Orders cancelled more than 72 hours before the scheduled delivery/pickup date will receive a 50% refund of the deposit paid.
  • Orders cancelled within 72 hours of the scheduled date are non-refundable, as ingredients will have been sourced and preparation begun.
  • Cancellations must be made in writing via email or WhatsApp.

9. Allergens & Dietary Requirements

  • We offer vegan and gluten-free cake options. However, our kitchen handles nuts, gluten, dairy, and eggs. Customers with severe allergies are advised to inform us at the time of ordering.
  • Jaytal House of Cake is not liable for allergic reactions resulting from undisclosed dietary restrictions.

10. Intellectual Property

  • All designs, photos, and content on our website and social media are the property of Jaytal House of Cake and may not be reproduced without prior written consent.

11. Changes to These Terms

  • Jaytal House of Cake reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
